It is with breaking hearts we announce the passing of two of the finest dogs
we have owned and loved... Click here for more information from All Dogs Corporation, a leader in van conversions especially for dogs, but more important for information on their heat alarm systems!
Update - November 1, 2006 The Board of the American Kennel Club were shown enough evidence of Animal Abuse in the death of the 10 dogs on August 10, 2006 that they have made a decision to put a "freeze" on any dogs owned or co-owned etc., by *** and *** - which means no dogs they own or co-own can be bred, shown, or transferred at this time. Unfortunately they are still able to show dogs for others! For more information, please contact Glen at AKC - 919-816-3560 If you have any questions - please call Joyce - 815-456-2639 - - - What to look for in a handler... Due to the recent deaths of our wonderful Dancer and Ice through neglect while in the care of a "professional" handler, we have realized that not all people are what they appear to be. We hope this page will help stop other dogs from dying from lack of proper care and attention while away from your home. We have always thought we were doing things right, we have all the questionnaires on our web site regarding prospective puppy purchasers but truly never thought about what to look for in a professional dog handler. Since Dancer and Ice died we have realized you must CAREFULLY check out handlers, every bit as energetically as you check out prospective puppy homes. Some things we know now to check are:
I can go on and on but the most important thing is to make absolutely, positively sure that you are comfortable with the situations your dog will be living in and be extremely aware of how they are being cared for while traveling. Remember some handlers have large numbers of dogs with them going from show to show, is your dog going to get the treatment you would give him or her? Nothing should be more important to a good handler than the safe care of the dogs we, as owners, entrust to them. Sadly this is not always the case.
